There’s probably a pretty good reason why Elon Musk is burning money faster than SpaceX rocket boosters on the GOP for the midterms – the Democrats are planning to string him up if they regain control of the House of Representatives.
The first-ever trillionaire may be the world’s richest man, but he has been squarely in the gunsights of the Democrats ever since he bought Twitter and ran off the censorship regime, not to mention his support of President Donald J. Trump in 2024 and brief tenure as Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) boss.
For a brief period, Musk even seemed to have supplanted Trump atop the left’s hate list during the early days of Trump II, with elected politicians painting him up like the fake devil and putting out dog whistles to their violent mobs who firebombed Tesla dealerships and charging stations, putting the self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist” in fear for his life.

After an ugly public spat with Trump, Musk dialed it way down on his political rhetoric, only reemerging from self-imposed isolation recently to plow hundreds of millions into keeping Republicans in charge of Congress. Call it a matter of self-preservation.
But if the money isn’t enough to overcome what some pundits and pollsters have been predicting to be a “blue wave,” Musk could soon find himself as one of the top targets of the tsunami of investigations that the Democrats are expected to unleash on top members of the Trump administration as they settle into power after the first of the year.
“Our committees need to be doing oversight both into the Trump administration, but I think even more importantly or equally importantly into the corporations and ultra rich people who have tried to corrupt our government,” Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas) told Politico’s Playbook. “And, of course, Elon Musk is on that list because it takes two to tango.”
The House Oversight Committee Dem also said the party should “absolutely should be looking into how Elon Musk, by trying to spend $300 million in the midterm elections” in support of “Republican politicians, is trying to buy his way into billions of dollars more in federal government money.”
“We definitely have a lot of questions about Elon Musk’s role in DOGE and it is something we plan to investigate,” a spokesperson for House Oversight Committee ranking member Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) told Politico.
“Multiple committees are now gaming out how they will target Musk next term, with senior members and aides considering how he fits into their panel’s jurisdiction,” the outlet reported. “Any number of committees in both chambers could stake a claim to probing a piece of Musk’s dealings with the federal government.
Adding to the SpaceX/Tesla CEO’s potential problems is the blame now being placed on him for restricting Ukraine’s use of the Starlink satellite network, an integral component of the country’s war with Russia, infuriating despotic midget Volodymyr Zelensky and his multitude of allies in Congress and the media.
The slowdown in speeds came after Musk openly called out Zelensky on X, as the Ukrainian leader has refused to honor Trump’s request to stop attacking Russian refineries as the president desperately attempts to lower diesel prices before voters go to the polls.

The Wall Street Journal has now fingered the Trump ally as being resposible for the Starlink slowdown. Lawmakers from both parties looking to get some answers from Musk with the paper reporting that “bipartisan lawmakers are calling for an investigation into Elon Musk after The Wall Street Journal reported that the SpaceX chief restricted Ukraine’s access to the company’s satellite-based Starlink network.”
Quoted by the WSJ is Ukraine-first Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), who wants to rake Musk over the coals under oath.
“We got to investigate,” the Pennsylvania congressman told CNN. “We got to call witnesses, got to bring them in, put them under oath and get to the bottom of it because this is a very, very serious matter,” the paper reported.
Fitzpatrick will find allies aplenty on the other side of the aisle, with Democrats salivating over finally getting their chance to take a crack at Musk.
“What happens when one guy gets a giant contract from the government and then uses it to do something that shuts down communication in a war that has been extremely important to the United States to support Ukraine?” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) said in an interview, according to Politico. “There’s a lot of different parts of the corruption around Musk.”
Not one who takes kindly to being bullied, Musk reacted to the Politico report by telling his would-be inquisitors to come get some.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets …

“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” the target wrote in a Wednesday post to X. “Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets …”
They are gunning for Musk, who has two weeks left to use his fortune to protect himself – it may be the obscenely rich political interloper’s last chance because the Democrats have made it clear that there will be no quarter once they have control of the committees and subpoena power.
