The gripe a congressional member of the credential class held against HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. found her parroting claims that a common cafeteria beverage is a racist dog whistle.
President Donald Trump’s unity movement for the 2024 presidential election saw him bring in castoffs from the Democratic Party, like his now-Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard and Kennedy, leader of the Make America Healthy Again movement.
As MAHA marked accomplishments removing harmful ingredients from foods and pharmaceuticals, flipped the food pyramid and overturned a ban on whole milk from government-run schools, the latter found Oregon Rep. Maxine Dexter (D) crying white supremacy.
Participating in a town hall at Wy’east Middle School in Hood River, Oregon, where she repeatedly caught herself getting “too political,” the pulmonologist by trade had flaunted her background as she decried the head of the Department of Health and Human Services with a claim of racism.
“Please ask for the science-based regimens,” insisted Dexter. “Not whatever RFK Jr. is getting kickbacks on or, you know, whatever whole milk, white supremacy dog-whistling that’s happening right now — I’m getting a little too political.”

Though not quite the extent crunchier constituents hope for in the dairy department, as many wish to see restrictions pulled on the availability of raw milk, earlier this year Trump had overturned President Barack Obama’s ban on whole milk for school lunches.
“I’m gonna start drinking a lot of milk,” the president had told some of his guests in the Oval Office as he’d signed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2025 modifying the requirements for schools participating in the National School Lunch Program.

While many scratched their head over Dexter’s claim that milk has anything to do with race, the argument was hardly a new one from the crowd aiming to find division in everything. Going back at least a decade, multiple reports pushed the argument that milk consumption recommendations were racist because of varying tolerances to lactose.
Dexter had previously put her credentials on display when she’d joined others with costly, seal-embossed wallpaper from the Democratic Doctors Caucus to don white coats and slam the administration. “Let me be clear: the big ugly betrayal bill will hurt people … This is not fiscal responsibility, it’s a smash and grab robbery of our healthcare system to give billionaires tax breaks.”
What was not in question regarding the leftist who infamously said in opposition to government downsizing, “we have to f*ck Trump!” was how desperate Democrats remained in trying to demonize everything the president does, as opposed to campaigning on any number of issues the American public actually cares about.
“They never talk about what they are going to do for American citizens; it’s either Trump or racism, and that’s all they have. They really do hate America and its citizens,” said one social media user as another joked, “I’m down with the BIPOC struggle. I only drink chocolate milk and leprechaun shakes in season.”

The polarization machine at work – take a basic policy debate about nutrition standards and turn it into a culture war flashpoint. Meanwhile, the actual pros/cons of different milk options in schools get completely buried under the outrage cycle.

So is Chocolate Milk a DEI thing? Just asking for a friend.

What is amazing is how much traction Democrats seem to be getting online with this “”white supremacy” line of attack.
