So, who are Trump’s new TikTok buyers?

President Donald Trump has found a buyer for TikTok, potentially saving the social media site from being banned.

Congress voted to ban the app if its China-based parent company, ByteDance, did not separate itself from the platform, and it was signed by former President Joe Biden during his presidency. Trump signed an executive order that extended the deadline until September 17. Despite being one of the most popular forms of social media, it has been difficult to find a buyer for the company. During an interview with Maria Bartiromo for “Sunday Morning Futures,” Trump revealed that “a group of very wealthy people” may be lined up to make the purchase.

“We have a buyer for TikTok, by the way,” he casually revealed after mentioning the platform’s name. “I think I’ll need probably China approval, and I think President Xi [Jinping] will probably do it.”

“I’ll tell you in about two weeks,” he said, after being asked to reveal the identity of the buyer.
