Sotomayor soils her robe over SCOTUS ruling on LA illegal alien raids

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor went off after a Monday ruling didn’t go her way when the justices lifted a lower court judge’s block on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents making stops in Los Angeles without reasonable suspicion.

In the 6-3 ruling that will allow ICE to resume its raids which advocacy groups claimed were being carried out using “blatant racial profiling,” the conservative majority lifted restrictions that were imposed by U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong in July when the Biden appointee sided with Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Karen Bass, the ACLU and other groups, a ruling that was celebrated at the time as a win against President Donald J. Trump’s deportation policies.

Unloading in a dissent that was dripping with emotion but light on legal reasoning, the “wise Latina” raged against her colleagues, calling the ruling “unconscionably irreconcilable with our Nation’s constitutional guarantees.”

“That decision is yet another grave misuse of our emergency docket,” Sotomayor wrote. “We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low-wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent.”

She was joined by the other two leftist women, fellow Obama appointee Elena Kagan and Biden DEI chatterbox Ketanji Brown Jackson, whose own tendency to go off in her opinions has become a major embarrassment to the nation’s highest court, which has traditionally prided itself on practicing sober decorum over political rants more befitting of a faculty lounge.

The ruling came after the Trump administration appealed for emergency intervention to overrule another unelected lower court activist seeking to usurp the power of the presidency and thwart the will of the American people by intervening to block ICE raids at Home Depot stores and other locations frequented by illegal aliens.

“A win for the safety of Californians and the rule of law,” a DHS spokesperson said in a statement, according to Fox News. “DHS law enforcement will not be slowed down and will continue to arrest and remove the murderers, rapists, gang members, and other criminal illegal aliens that Karen Bass continues to give safe harbor.”

“In a 6-3 decision, the Court stayed an injunction that attempted to hamper ICE operations across the Los Angeles area. Now, ICE can continue carrying out roving patrols in California without judicial micromanagement,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a post to X. “We will continue fighting and winning for @POTUS agenda in court.”
