Special counsel probing wire fraud charges against Trump as regime’s onslaught against him intensifies

Yet another front has opened in the seemingly endless war on Donald J. Trump with the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland now reportedly zeroing in on the former president on wire fraud charges related to fundraising between the 2020 election and President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

According to a Washington Post report, Special Counsel Jack Smith is looking into the potential crimes stemming from Trump and his “fundraising operation” using false claims of a fraudulent election to solicit donations, a violation of federal law that it is “illegal to make false representations over email to swindle people out of money,” the outlet reported.

The Washington Post attributes the bombshell developments to a cadre of the usual anonymous sources, this time a whopping “eight people with knowledge of the investigation” who “spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing criminal investigation.”

The once-venerable newspaper reported that a flurry of subpoenas have been issued to “Trump advisers and former campaign aides, Republican operatives and other consultants involved in the 2020 presidential campaign,” and the subpoenas which were issued last month have not been reported previously.

“Smith’s office has sent subpoenas in recent weeks to Trump advisers and former campaign aides, Republican operatives and other consultants involved in the 2020 presidential campaign, the people said. They have also heard testimony from some of these figures in front of a Washington grand jury, some of the people said,” the WaPo reported.

Smith, who was tabbed to oversee the sweeping investigations into matters involving Trump with the now-defunct J6 committee being disbanded after Republicans recaptured the House, appears to be slowly and methodically positioning for the kill shot that will end Trump’s political career, something that his multitude of enemies have been unable to accomplish despite years of fake news, two failed impeachments, the Liz Cheney-led January 6 inquisition, and the Russia collusion witch hunt spearheaded by the previous special counsel tasked with taking down Trump, former FBI boss Robert Mueller.

The target reacted to the Washington Post’s big scoop.

“Special ‘Prosecutor’ Jack Smith is illegally leaking massive amounts of confidential information to the Fake News Media. He and his entire family are known Trump Haters. He should be removed by the corrupt DOJ, at once!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump has maintained that the election wasn’t on the up-and-up despite the insistence by the media, Democrats and many Republicans that the contest in which Biden received the most votes in history was completely legit and anyone who dared to suggest otherwise is a conspiracy theorist or worse, a potentially violent domestic extremist.

In another Wednesday report from the WaPo’s fellow left-wing smear rag, The New York Times broke the news that Garland’s legal hit squad is investigating whether Trump may have showed visitors to Mar-a-Lago a copy of a map with “sensitive intelligence information” although the report, penned by star reporter Maggie Haberman was light on actual details.

“The nature of the map and the information it contained is not clear. But investigators have questioned a number of witnesses about it, according to the people with knowledge of the matter, as the special counsel overseeing the Justice Department’s Trump-focused inquiries, Jack Smith, examines the former president’s handling of classified material after leaving office and weighs charges that could include obstruction of justice,” Haberman and two other reporters wrote in the hit piece which is also attributed to a handful of anonymous sources in “four people with knowledge of the matter.”

News of Smith’s expanded probe comes after Trump was indicted by a New York City grand jury working on behalf of George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over charges related to an alleged “hush money” payment to faded porn “actress” Stormy Daniels and he faces yet another politically-motivated prosecution in Georgia with an Atlanta grand jury considering criminal election interference charges over the 2020 results in the state.
