U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is at the center of controversy again, this time stemming from remarks calling Israel an “apartheid” state and questioning reported rapes by Hamas terrorists.
The far-left “Squad” member has now done an about-face after his claims of Israeli “propaganda” during a videotaped rant went viral. At a rally on November 17 in Westchester, New York, Bowman was caught on video making the claims, asserting that the reported rapes and child murders perpetrated by Hamas terrorists during the October attacks on Israel were a “lie.”
“There was propaganda used at the beginning of the siege,” Bowman can be heard shouting in the video that was posted on TikTok and reported by Politico. “There’s still no evidence of beheaded babies or raped women but they still keep using the lie.”
Democrats claim to stand with women unless those women are Israeli and the men who committed atrocities against them are Hamas terrorists.

“In a statement after his brief interview with POLITICO, Bowman contradicted his previous remarks. He and his team did not deny that he made them. The ‘propaganda’ comment was one of several comments he’s had to walk back on in recent months, including raising conspiracy theories about the 9/11 terrorist attacks,” Politico’s Daniel Lippman reported.
“As I said at this rally, what Hamas did on October 7th is a war crime and they must release all the hostages,” Bowman said, citing a United Nations report.
“The UN confirmed that Hamas committed rape and sexual violence, a reprehensible fact that I condemn entirely. I also voted yes on Resolution 966, which officially condemns the rape and sexual violence committed by Hamas,” the Democrat added. “So let me be clear, and ensure my words are not twisted: I always stand against sexual violence in all forms and stand for peace for all.”
Asked about those remarks on Thursday, Bowman declined to talk about them on the record. “I’m focused on my votes and other things. I’m not talking,” he said. When asked if he still doubted those claims, he added: “I’m not talking about that now. My team will get back to you.”

The United Nations released a report earlier this month confirming Israel’s accusations against the terrorist group.
“Based on the information gathered by the mission team from multiple and independent sources, there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred during the 7 October attacks in multiple locations across Gaza periphery, including rape and gang rape, in at least three locations,” read part of the UN report.
“With respect to hostages, the mission team found clear and convincing information that some have been subjected to various forms of conflict-related sexual violence including rape and sexualized torture and sexualized cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and it also has reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing,” the report continued.
Bowman was shredded over his antisemitic remarks from November, another in a long line of controversial comments and actions by the New York Democrat. Bowman is currently facing a primary challenge by Westchester County Executive George Latimer in the 16th Congressional District. Entrepreneur and conservative activist Chris Wright is also running for the seat as a Republican.
“Bowman has revealed his true colors to us. He represents Hamas in the Gaza district,” said Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, executive vice president of the New York Board of Rabbis, according to the New York Post. “He should change his party affiliation and run on the Hamas party line.”
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Will Reinert responded on X, writing that “Extreme House Democrats are blinded by their Antisemitism & love of Hamas,” and “‘Believe all women’ until the finger is pointed at Hamas.”
