Students at Old Dominion University rendered Islamic shooter ‘no longer alive’

The terrorist who opened fire at Old Dominion University was identified as Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, 36, an ex-National Guard soldier convicted of trying to support ISIS.

Jalloh reportedly sought out an ROTC class to wage jihad on, which proved to be another bad decision the Islamic extremist made. After asking if he was at the ROTC class, according to the New York Post, Jalloh shouted “Allahu Akbar” and opened fire, gunning down the instructor and wounding two members of the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at the university.

But before the crazed killer could do any more damage, a heroic ROTC student jumped into action and fatally stabbed Jalloh. Or, as stated by Dominique Evans, the Special Agent in Charge of the Norfolk FBI Field Office, “rendered him no longer alive.”

“The students who subdued him…rendered him no longer alive. I don’t know how else to say it. They basically were able to terminate the threat,” Evans said at a press conference.

“The shooter is now deceased thanks to a group of brave students who stepped in and subdued him – actions that undoubtedly saved lives along with the quick response of law enforcement,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement.

Jalloh was a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Sierra Leone — yet another sign that our approach to immigration is fundamentally broken. He was convicted in 2017 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS and sentenced to 11 years in prison. The terrorist was released early in the waning days of the Biden administration.

The ROTC instructor who was tragically killed was identified as Lt. Col. Brandon Shah.

As noted below, Shah was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Atlantic Resolve. His awards included two Bronze Stars, Senior Army Aviator Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Valor, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Joint Service Achievement Medal.

A classmate of Shah’s at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College summed up the day’s tragic events properly when he called our immigration policy a “betrayal,” noting that America “imported the enemy who killed him.”

“This is not the way I want to see a familiar face show up on my feed. Brandon and I were classmates at the Command and General Staff College,” Chase Spears wrote. “He deployed to fight the enemy overseas in combat zones. Meanwhile, America imported the enemy who k*lled him. When I say this nation’s immigration policy is a betrayal, I mean it. Words fail.”

“He kept America safe, but America couldn’t keep him safe. Such a well-lived life. Exemplary,” Fox News’ Charles Payne added, in a response of his own.
