Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was reportedly spotted strolling through NYC this weekend with a female former staffer by his side.
“Looking slim and trim and sporting a black polo shirt, cream-colored chinos, blue New Balance running sneakers – and his notorious newly dyed-brown locks – the 62-year-old former mayor was photographed strutting through SoHo Friday accompanied by his former policy analyst Sarah Batchu,” according to the New York Post.
When asked about their appearance together, de Blasio told the Post he’d met up with Batchu to offer her some career advice.
“She asked if we could meet to discuss some career choices she has to make. I have conversations like that with people who worked for me all the time. That’s all there is to it,” he said.
Perhaps, but critics have their own theories, especially given what just happened: Last month he and his wife of 30 years announced to The New York Times that they were splitting (though not divorcing) and dating other people.

“They are not planning to divorce, they said, but will date other people. They will continue to share the Park Slope townhouse where they raised their two children, now in their 20s — the vinyl-sided hub of a thoroughly modern political family whose mixed-race symbolism helped send a spindly progressive long shot to City Hall,” the Times reported.
Based on this, some think the former mayor may very well be dating Batchu and any number of additional women.
Indeed, after he announced his separation last month, the Post asked single New York women whether they’d date him, and the answers were very promising.
“Yes. The fact that he was mayor is enough for me. He must be smart. I am Russian and traditional, so I will adopt to my man’s politics, whatever they are. Plus I have a fetish for tall guys and he is handsome,” local artist Tatyana Burika said.
“He got money, he like chocolate, why not,” rapper and former Barstool Sports personality Tiko Texas added.
By “he like chocolate,” she meant that he likes black woman. FYI, his wife is black.
Texas also said she didn’t mind that de Blasio is neither filthy rich nor living alone by himself.
“I’m okay with him living with the wife. I think that’s a great arrangement. I’m single and mingling right now. That would be cool. They have their space and I have mine. I wouldn’t want us to live together anyway,” she said.
Comedian Christy Miller, 52, also didn’t mind his living arrangements.
“For me no, because I know she’s a lesbian, so I’m totally cool with it … There’s no danger — she might come into my room,” Miller, a Hell’s Kitchen resident, told the Post.
“I got to boost my comedy career. I need to go viral with something. I’m 52 years old, but I don’t look or act it. I power lift for fun. He works out at the Y … He gets a pension right? And them benefits? Okay,” she added.
Even Los Angeles producer Shelley Eisner, 59, is reportedly interested.
“It would probably be a fun, interesting date. Do I have any expectations? No — I’d have fun. I was a Berkeley girl in the late ’80s. We’d protest over a tuition hike of a dollar,” she said.
But not everybody is down with the NYC clown. Gloria Velez, a local woman who reportedly works out at the same gym as de Blasio, said the former mayor’s living situation is a huge turn-off.
“He’s not my type. I like men who are dedicated to one’s spouse. Either you are or you aren’t [with them]. You can’t be a little bit pregnant. I don’t believe in sharing,” she said, adding though that she’d change her mind if he actually got a divorce:
“I’d give him a chance, I like his height, I like his demeanor. I see him every day [at the gym]. He’s very pleasant with me, he never doesn’t say hello to me. We’re very cordial.”
Then there’s Hunter College employee Malin Abrahamson, 51.
Hilariously enough, she “said she had ‘soured’ on the de Blasio during his tenure in City Hall, but after nearly a year and a half of current mayor Eric Adams, she would take him back,” according to the Post.
Meanwhile, Dorinda, another woman who works out at the same gym, said she thinks de Blasio is “a jerk” but is confident he’ll never be alone courtesy his supposed looks.
“He’ll never be alone. He’s good-looking. He has a penis,” she said.
