Rumors that the Philadelphia Eagles planned to turn down the traditional White House visit for Super Bowl winners didn’t last long.
While it might be popular in some circles to snub President Donald Trump, that doesn’t appear to be the case for the Eagles. According to the Daily Mail, a league source says that the team plans to celebrate their victory in Washington D.C. “if and when they receive an invitation.”
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network took to X to clear the air, implying that the team never planned to reject the invitation, making the rumor fake news.
“The [Eagles] would be honored to visit The White House, team sources say. It’s one of the aspects of winning they are excited about and look forward to receiving the invitation,” he wrote.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also worked to quash the claim in a social media post of his own, saying “To those wondering: Eagles sources say the team is planning on visiting the White House this off-season and looks forward to receiving its invitation.”

X users reacted to the news, with many believing that “public pressure changed their tune”:
I’m glad Jeff Lurie changed his mind and learned from the big mistake he made in 2018 when the@Eagles
refused to visit the White House and Trump— PhillyGodfather ® Sports Bettor (@phillygodfather) February 24, 2025
Trump supporters aren’t just half of the population.
They’re probably 70% of the NFL fans.
Disrespecting the president is a bad idea for business.

If they really shunned The White House visit, I think the NFL is done for. Me personally I will not watch a single game.

All those Dems that said they were Eagles fans after the “fake news”, no take backs

Yea after the public called them out for not wanting to visit the White House cause of President Trump being the President

It’s possible public pressure changed their tune. I’m not going to jump to the conclusion the reports they refused a visit were false. The entire city of Philadelphia is a mess.
