Superman director says reboot will come with preachy woke morality lessons, and there goes movie sales

Director James Gunn is revealing the political themes of his new “Superman” movie and oh boy…

During an interview with The Sunday Times, Gunn promoted the upcoming flick by predicting there will be some pushback by “jerks” who just don’t like kindness. He said this when asked about whether he expects the film’s political undertones to resonate differently around the country.

“Yes, it plays differently. It’s about human kindness. And obviously, there will be jerks out there who are just not kind and will take it as offensive just because it is about kindness. But screw them,” he said.

Gunn also pointed out that the movie isn’t all about preachy morality and political messaging.

“Yes, it’s about politics. But on another level, it’s about morality. Do you never kill no matter what — which is what Superman believes — or do you have some balance, as Lois believes? It’s really about their relationship and how differing moral perspectives can pull two people apart,” the director explained.

The movie is expected to hit theaters on July 11 and features actor David Corenswet and actress Rachel Brosnahan as Superman and Lois Lane.
