Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is receiving support from a less-than-savory source.
As the congressman faces allegations of sexual misconduct from a woman who currently runs a left-leaning youth political engagement organization, Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) stepped up to voice his support.

“When you are in first place, is when they target you. Eric is a fighter and he will win the Governors race,” the senator wrote.
Swalwell is currently denying allegations by Cheyanne Hunt, a former Capitol Hill staffer, who says that he “had a practice of making sexual advances with women on his staff.” She claims she’s received many similar messages from women claiming Swalwell was inappropriate with them in some way.

“You know, Eric Swalwell has slept with many of his interns and makes them all sign [non-disclosure agreements] so they don’t speak up, right? And when I was 19, he tried hitting on me and sliding into my DMs,” the message reads.
“I am personally working with a group of women who want to come forward and share their stories. I am also aware of a much larger group that is also in this process that I am not personally working with,” Hunt said.
The gubernatorial hopeful’s campaign is denying the allegations and accusing “flailing opponents” of siding with MAGA to thwart his political ambitions.
“This false, outrageous rumor is being spread 27 days before an election begins by flailing opponents who have sadly teamed up with MAGA conspiracy theorists because they know Eric Swalwell is the frontrunner in this race,” said Micah Beasley to the New York Post.
Looks like it’s “believe all women” until they start making accusations about your party.
Meanwhile, Gallego is receiving some flak about his support of Swalwell. In 2016, he filed for divorce from his now ex-wife, Phoenix City Councilwoman Kate Gallego, while she was 9 months pregnant and due to give birth any day. While the divorce paperwork indicates no allegations of infidelity and includes denials of any domestic violence, critics claim that the senator was having an affair with a staffer. Gallego himself claims that his PTSD played a role in the divorce.

When the truth comes out everyone is gonna remember @RubenGallego as the guy who went after the women who were harassed instead of the man who did the harassing. https://t.co/htohqp7TrA
