The “Seditious Six” found an advocate on CNN as a Republican senator wasn’t buying Jake Tapper’s one-sided view of an allegedly politicized Justice Department.

Throughout President Joe Biden’s administration, leftists and their allies in corporate media cheered and participated in wall-to-wall coverage as the DOJ of the certified victor of the 2020 presidential election and other radical prosecutors unleashed lawfare against the expected challenger for the 2024 presidential election, then-former President Donald Trump.
Now, as judicial activists and unfavorable districts have impeded the current Justice Department, including in seeking to indict six Democrat lawmakers for urging U.S. service members, “You must must refuse illegal orders,” Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R) called out Tapper’s line of questioning as little more than a “distraction” from Democrat obstruction.
On the latest installment of CNN’s “State of the Union,” Tapper began the interview by referencing quotes from RINO senators like Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski, North Carolina’s Thom Tillis, and Mississippi’s Roger Wicker, who opposed efforts to hold the “Seditious Six” accountable. “So, your fellow Republican senators were pretty outspoken about what the Trump administration tried to do.”
“How do you feel about the Trump administration trying to send those six members of Congress, including two of your Senate colleagues, to prison?” asked the host of Democrat Sens. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, and Reps. Jason Crow of Colorado, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, as well as Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania.
“It’s not the lane I walk in. I leave that to the DOJ. I’m not an attorney, don’t pretend to be an attorney,” responded Mullin who earned the followup from Tapper, “I do have a tough time imagining, let’s say if the Biden administration had tried to prosecute Rand Paul for saying things about COVID that they didn’t like — I have a tough time imagining you would say the same thing.”
Dismissing the hypothetical, the senator reminded the host of what actually happened during the Biden administration, “Well, I would say the same thing if I’m not familiar with the case law … What we don’t want to happen is for the DOJ to be used for political leverage, which is what happened underneath the Biden administration, which is what happened when they went after Trump for year after year after year. And we’re trying to change that.”
Tapper, who appeared to be struggling to keep a straight face during Mullin’s remarks, couldn’t help but laugh as he retorted, “Well, you just said you didn’t want to weigh in, but then you accused the Biden DOJ of politicizing the DOJ. I mean, this DOJ is going after Trump’s political opponents: [former FBI Director James] Comey, [New York Attorney General] Letitia James, people on the [Federal Reserve Board], two of your colleagues, Kelly and Slotkin. I mean, you really don’t think this DOJ is politicized?”
“I don’t think there’s even a question that the DOJ was weaponized against President Trump at this point. I mean, I don’t even think that’s a question,” the senator fired back. “But what this is, is nothing but a distraction. What you and I are talking about is nothing but a distraction about what is actually happening right now with the Democrat Party by this political theater, by shutting down DHS for something you even admitted yourself can’t be done.”
Meanwhile, it was reported last week that four of the “Seditious Six” were parroting talking points of a “weaponized” DOJ under Trump while once again resorting to lawfare against the president.
