Tapper reveals Trump’s words about potential Hamas noncompliance: ‘Israel will return … when I say the word’

President Trump’s peace deal between Israel and Hamas is in a fragile state, according to CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Tapper revealed that he had a private 10-minute phone conversation with Trump, mainly about the Middle East ceasefire agreement.

“Right off the bat, the president told me, quote, what‘s going on with Hamas that will be straightened out quickly,” Tapper said Wednesday night on CNN’s “The Lead.”

“He was referring to the various ways that Hamas does not appear to be abiding by Trump‘s 20-point agreement, specifically, point four, which states that, quote, within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages alive and deceased, will be returned, unquote.”

President Trump allegedly told Tapper that violent gangs may be responsible for the reported murder of Palestinians in the streets amid the ceasefire.

“I‘m doing research on it. We‘ll find out about it. It could be gangs,” Trump said, according to Tapper.

When asked what Trump would do if Hamas refuses to disarm, the president did not mince words.

“Israel will return to those streets as soon as I say the word,” Trump allegedly told Tapper.

Trump also briefly touched on a contentious interaction with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the ceasefire deal.

“I had it out with Bibi,” he said.

Trump is also determined to help end the fighting between Russia and Ukraine.

“We also talked about Russia‘s ongoing war in Ukraine, the president saying that he‘s working hard on resolving that conflict,” Tapper said.

President Trump’s patience with Vladimir Putin is seemingly wearing thin.

Those comments came before a scheduled meeting on Friday between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
