Taylor Swift called a ‘distraction’, slammed as ‘Chief’s Yoko Ono’ after recent downturn

Taylor Swift is being blamed for the recent downturn of luck for Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs who have lost more than half of their last few games.

With the pop superstar now dating Kansas City’s star tight end Travis Kelce, sports commentators and others have begun to theorize that the relationship may have sparked a dark cloud over the team. Suggestions that Swift could be the Chiefs’ Yoko Ono also surfaced after the team’s 20-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.

“Feels like it’s about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction,” Fox Sports 1 host Skip Bayless wrote on X.

“What do you think…” he asked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Coach Andy Reid and Outkick founder Clay Travis.

“The Chiefs are not a good football team and Travis Kelce looks like he should retire,” Travis wrote on X.

“He’s been worthless the last seven or eight weeks. The double worthless Pfizer shots may have caught up with him,” he added. “Either that or Taylor Swift is the Chiefs Yoko Ono. Maybe both.”

“Kelce is not the Kelce he’s been for the last 20 years of his career,” Fox Sports 1’s Craig Carton contended during his show Tuesday.

“And I’m not sure if it’s because he’s distracted by the off-the-field stuff which is very public, or for a guy in his mid-30’s, who has talked about ‘my body doesn’t want to take anymore’ that maybe the mind has followed,” Carton added.

“I do think some of the distractions are a factor,” concurred his colleague Willie Colon.

But there was some pushback from those who argued the team’s problems were not brought about by Swift’s presence.

Still, others clapped back over the audacity to blame a successful woman for a man’s failure.
