TDS-riddled De Niro’s new film rivals Snow White for biggest box office bomb

Actor Robert De Niro’s latest tough-guy gangster flick has had a devastating showing all over the world.

The Trump-hater’s box office bomb, Alto Knights, grossed a shocking $3.2 million domestically over the weekend, across almost 1,200 theaters. Around the rest of the world, the results were even worse, with the flick only managing to pull in $1.8 million in eight foreign markets, according to entertainment outlet Variety.

“Not a single market managed to hit $500,000 — a dismal result for a major studio release,” they reported.

The Warner Bros. production cost nearly $50 million to bring to life and is the second cinematic misfire for the company. According to Variety, Bong Joon Ho’s “Mickey 17″ is slated “to lose $75 million to $80 million in its theatrical run.”

“So far, the film has earned $70 million internationally and $110 million worldwide. Against a $118 million budget, however, ‘Mickey 17’ needs to gross at least $275 million to $300 million to break even.”
