Teachers union goes full activist with jaw-dropping new agenda items

Corey DeAngelis just exposed the National Education Association’s (NEA) new business items in an explosive megathread.

The school choice champion has never hidden his disdain for teachers’ unions, but they are doing very little to help themselves and their public image. If this thread is anything to go by, it’s clear that they are more interested in political advocacy than actual education matters, which is disastrous for the children of America.

Look:

First up is “the impeachment, conviction, and removal of Donald Trump from the US Presidency,” DeAngelis reported. This item alone will cost $5,236,193, as it “cannot be accomplished with current staff and resources.”

Next we have “educational reparations” and no-confidence votes for United States Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. citing “repeated failures of federal leadership.”

Moving on, we see a plan to “establish a dedicated task force of rank-and-file NEA Members and RA Delegates dedicated to organizing, coordinating, and supporting NEA affiliate-driven actions in concert with the May Day 2028 General Strike.” And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, they have thrown in the “right of educators to deplore any and all acts of genocide” with specific reference to Gaza, because apparently “NEA educations are being disciplined, doxxed and fired” for speaking out.

If the above isn’t socialist enough for you, the NEA is also promoting “state-level Health Care for All, Medicare for All, and Single Payer health care campaigns led by NEA member leaders” and anti-ICE propaganda.

Other business items include:

  • Spending $314,632 on a “Culturally Responsive Teaching Resource Library”
  • Adapting “the existing Family Preparedness Plan resource to include guidance and considerations relevant to transgender individuals and families, including legal documentation, access to affirming healthcare, and state-specific safety planning.”
  • Writing “an article to be published online about the systemic erasure of access for transgender people across multiple states highlighting trans-gender youth who have been forced to leave their states or hide their identity.”
  • Publicizing “our opposition to the $1.8 billion fund created by Donald Trump to finance the next ‘January 6th’ fascist insurrection to overturn democracy and create an American Gestapo.”
  • Calling for an end to the war in Iran and opposing Israel’s invasion of Lebanon.

X users had a lot of thoughts on the NEA’s priority:
