American Federation of Teachers union President Randi Weingarten accidentally called to end the Department of Education (DOE) and social media users are laughing their heads off about it.
President Donald Trump has shaken up the federal government, including a call to end the (DOE) which critics argue has failed America’s youth for decades, with significant issues being brought to light during the COVID pandemic. School choice advocate Corey DeAngelis is among those who have worked to expose the corrupt inner workings of the AFT, and he couldn’t help but notice that a recent interview between Weingarten and MSNBC’s Ana Cabrera had a hidden gem.

BREAKING: Randi Weingarten accidentally endorses ABOLISHING the Department of Education.
“States and localities run education.. they should run it. The federal government should not run it.” pic.twitter.com/W5VGUPZmPU

“States and localities run education,” Weingarten admits. “That’s where 90% of the funding for education goes, they already run it. They should run it. The federal government should not run it.”
If that’s the case, then it sounds like even she is on board with Trump abolishing the DOE and sending education back to the states.
X users reacted to the clip:
I could be totally wrong about this but I don’t think this was an accident.
I think it’s a warning that the left has a state-level backup plan ready to go. (Or are we still pretending under-the-radar state-level election takeovers aren’t a thing?)

Dammit! If she’s for abolishing the department of education, now I have to rethink my opinion. There is NO WAY Weingarten is right about anything!

Well, she’s right about something finally!

Pretty sure Randi wants state and local UNIONS to run them.

As I understand it, federal contributions to “education” is only about 8% of the total spent. Does that jive with what you know about it?

wait a minute . . . if she’s claiming to support something, she must have her fingers in it somewhere, right?
