Team Beta-boys just lost, bigly! GOP trounces Dems for fifth straight year in Congressional Baseball Game

Team Beta-boys just lost, bigly.

Republicans defeated Democrats at the Congressional Baseball Game on Wednesday by a whopping 13-2 score.

What? You didn’t hear about this? That’s likely because this is the FIFTH straight win for Team GOP.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) apparently saw the writing on the wall. When he was asked before the game about the Democrats’ chances of a win, he flatly stated, “No,” according to The Hill.

The game’s margin was closer than last year’s 31-11 Republican rout, but Democrats failed to seize multiple offensive chances, stranding nine runners on base and faltering defensively in the later innings, The Hill reported.

Republicans reportedly jumped out front, capitalizing on a Democrat throwing blunder in the first inning, then erupted for a 5-0 lead with a second-inning surge. Democrats fought back in the third, ignited by Rep. Morgan McGarvey’s (D-KY) electrifying RBI triple down the first-base line, clawing their way to a 5-2 deficit by the inning’s close.

Democrats made no further home runs, and the GOP ran away with it in a “five-run deluge” in the fifth inning, according to The Hill.

But the best news is that the game raised over two and a half million dollars, which will go to charity. Hopefully.
