Ted Cruz explains WHY he went on ‘The View’ knowing it would be ‘a bit of a circus’

Sen. Ted Cruz’s fiery appearance Monday on “The View” went just about how one might have expected it to go with the exception of the live audience getting involved — few could have seen that coming.

As the Republican senator from Texas was giving a masterclass on showcasing the hypocrisy of the liberal harpies on the show, doing so in a manner that exposed them for their intolerance of countering views, an audience member opted to take that lesson to the extreme when she reportedly called out to Cruz, “F–K you!”

While some may question Cruz’s sanity for appearing on the show well known for regurgitating Democratic Party talking points in the first place, the senator appeared on Fox News’ “The Story” later in the day and explained why he made the decision.

“I’ll tell you, it was a bit of a circus,” Cruz told host Martha MacCallum, after noting that there were “climate radicals” in the audience that “shut The View down for a while.”

“But the reason I went on The View is I think it’s important that conservatives reach much more broadly than just preaching to the choir that we need to reach,” he said. “A lot of the viewers of ‘The View’ have only seen one partisan story the whole time.”

(While the analogy comes across as profound, it may be a bit hopeful given how intolerant and militant many on the left are today.)

“A few minutes later, Whoopi Goldberg insisted — she was obsessed with January 6, and she said it’s only Republicans who engage in violence,” Cruz said. “And I couldn’t help but laugh. I said, ‘Did you miss an entire year of Antifa riots all over the country firebombing cities… ?'”

Cruz is promoting his new book, “Justice Corrupted: How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System.”

“President Trump asked me to argue his case before the Supreme Court if the Supreme Court had taken it,” he said of his new book. “So I described that case and what the fight was all about.”

The Republican lawmaker took to Twitter after his appearance on “The View” and said the liberal cohosts — and the audience — “couldn’t handle learning about the hypocrisy from Democrats.”

He shared a clip of himself reminding the cohosts about Democrats objecting to election outcomes who are conveniently ignored by the media. “They sat here,” he said, referencing the very chair he was sitting in, “and said it was illegitimate and you guys were fine with it.”

That’s when Goldberg brought up January 6.
