Former President Barack Obama is catching heat for his latest attempt to push “pluralism” on the American public.
Politics has divided voters in the United States over the last several years, and rhetoric has become so heated that President-elect Donald Trump had not one but two attempts made on his life prior to Election Day. But suddenly, following Trump’s decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, some on the left are calling for unity.
One of those voices belongs to Obama, who will be hosting a conversation about “pluralism” during his Obama Foundation Democracy Forum. The idea, he says, is to “build rules and habits that allow us to disagree deeply while still being able to live together.”
I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about how to build rules and habits that allow us to disagree deeply while still being able to live together.
On December 5, I’ll talk more about this idea – called pluralism – at our third annual @ObamaFoundation Democracy Forum. Learn… pic.twitter.com/yHKu1KQJ4v

The former president’s message was not received well on X, particularly by people who remember what happened to America under his leadership:
Obama started the “talk to your conservative uncle about his news viewing habits this thanksgiving.” thing. https://t.co/QmPzaSOKvK

The balls on this guy.
For the kids not old enough, you can’t imagine how much LESS divided we were before this street communist walked into the White House.
Pre-Obama was a different America. A much better one. https://t.co/8OpgjzR1Sw

You sought to divide us, Barack. That was your goal when you came into office because you knew it was easier to rule a divided people …
Clever marketing, slogans, merch.
Democrats created you.Luckily, Americans figured it out and you no longer have the pull you once did.

You lost all your credibility when you perpetuated the fine people hoax against Trump. You should be nowhere near building rules of any kind for Americans. We can live fine together without you, go retreat to one of your mansions.

All of a sudden you’re about coming together now that it’s come out a huge chunk of the country is over your hypocritical and hateful rhetoric that has divided the country.
You over played your hand, thinking you can order black men to do your bidding

Interesting, Barack. Maybe start by explaining how spying on political opponents and dividing the country over 8 years fits into your ‘rules for living together.

Lol you are so insanely irrelevant now.
Thank you for helping Trump win though.
