‘The Five’ co-hosts can’t believe they’re praising Fetterman for ‘smart’ remarks: ‘Sounds like he’s getting better’

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman received widespread praise this week from conservatives, including those on Fox News’ “The Five.”

Why the praise? Because not only has Fetterman been GREAT on Israel, but he’s now being great on other matters as well.

Case in point: While speaking on “The View” this Friday about former Republican Rep. George Santos’ expulsion, Fetterman unexpectedly called for the expulsion of Democrat Rep. Bob Menendez.

“We have a colleague in the Senate that has actually done much more sinister and serious kinds of things, Senator Menendez. He needs to go. And if you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow to somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate?” he said.

“Menendez, I think, is really a Senator for Egypt, not New Jersey. I really think he needs to go,” he added.

In an unsealed indictment that was filed in September, both Menendez and his wife were accused “by federal prosecutors of agreeing to and accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of bribes,” according to Newsweek.

“The bribes allegedly included gold, luxury vehicles, cash and payments toward a home mortgage by businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes—in exchange for allegedly advancing their interests, and to the benefit of the Arab Republic of Egypt,” Newsweek notes.

Yet most Democrats have been silent about Menendez’s bad behavior. But not Fetterman, much to the surprise of the hosts of Fox News’ “The Five.”

Reacting to Fetterman’s remarks later Friday afternoon, co-host Jeanine Pirro said, “I gotta tell you, at least Fetterman’s putting some sentences together. That’s a good thing.”

That was a reference to the congressman’s habit of speaking incoherently.

Co-host Will Cain also weighed in, saying, “The whole body double thing might have happened. That was a coherent, smart answer from John Fetterman.”

That, in turn, was a reference to a conspiracy theory that emerged in September.

“That man’s a Harvard-educated Senator,” co-host Harold Ford Jr., the resident liberal, then rebutted.

“Hey, for real, it sounds like he’s getting better and good for him,” Cain continued.

Pirro then noted that it’s very rare for the show’s conservative hosts to compliment a Democrat.

“We’re complimenting a Democrat, ok? When’s the last time you complimented a Republican?” she asked Ford.

“In the last segment!” he quipped.

Fetterman has also been awash with praise on social media.

Note what the latter user wrote about Fetterman having “recovered.”

For the majority of the congressman’s tenure in office, he’s faced criticism from conservatives over his inability to speak properly as per a stroke that occurred in 2022.

The right’s feelings about Fetterman began to change after the Oct. 7th terror attack on Israel by Hamas. Unlike many of his colleagues, the congressman immediately took up the banner of Israel and began calling for the release of Israeli hostages.

He even wrapped himself in an Israeli flag while at a pro-Israel rally, deeply impressing conservatives but also deeply angering leftists.
