‘The View’ co-host bemoans DeSantis’ support for Marine vet railroaded by Soros-backed prosecutor

New York City Democrats and their media toadies celebrated a big win after the former Marine who intervened to protect passengers menaced by a violent thug onboard a subway train was subjected to a legal lynching by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. But support for the persecuted good Samaritan by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has some leftists crying foul, one of them being “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin.

Last week, the George Soros-backed left-wing prosecutor brought charges against the military veteran, Daniel Penny, who used a chokehold to subdue Jordan Neely, a black miscreant with an extensive rap sheet including brutally assaulting an elderly woman, and unfortunately, as a result of the encounter, the 30-year-old mentally unwell criminal perished, leading to Bragg’s charging the 24-year-old who almost certainly will be convicted by a tainted NYC jury pool and sentenced to a hellish term behind bars for his selfless act, possibly in notorious Riker’s Island.

Hostin, an unrepentant race-baiter, bellyached about DeSantis who expressed his support for the railroaded hero when the governor posted a message to Twitter along with a link to a fundraising page for Penny’s legal defense and he is going to need all the help that he can get with the deck stacked against him by Bragg in the politically charged case over Neely’s untimely demise, a death that some have likened to martyred drug addict and felon George Floyd.

On Monday’s edition of the ABC daytime show, Hostin threw a hissy fit about DeSantis, a conservative who seems despised even more than Donald J. Trump in some leftist circles, raging against the rising GOP rock star whom she decried as “dangerous” for his support of Bragg’s latest victim.

“I think it’s because he’s attached himself like a parasite to every single manufactured culture war issue he can and people, particularly Floridians, see through it. It’s an old shtick now: drag queens, Mickey Mouse, AP black history courses. I mean, it’s just crazy,” griped co-host Ana Navarro, a faux Republican, before Hostin jumped at the chance to bash DeSantis.

“He’s in the business of otherizing people. But what I will say: what scares me about Ron DeSantis is that he offers Trumpism without Trump,” she said. “So, those people so repelled by Donald Trump, and there are many people, won’t be as repelled by him, I think. And those manufactured culture issues seem to be very effective with that base, that particular base, and part of the Republican Party as well. Definitely the right-wing part. I think that he can be effective.”

“And let’s remember, he’s a lawyer. He’s Harvard and Yale-trained and educated. He’s not a stupid man. So he is really leaning into Trumpism, knowing what the base wants. And that scares me,” she continued. “I mean, he actually tweeted out about the — you know, the young man that was killed on a subway with a chokehold by a former Marine – Jordan Neely. He is actually fundraising for his defense, and he’s made $2 million already for killing a young black man,” Hostin added, throwing down the race card.

“And you have Ron DeSantis, who’s a lawyer, who says he is actually not a — he’s not a vigilante, that he’s this great guy. When in New York, it’s just a reckless killing, and he was reckless in doing that. So, for a lawyer to say what we’re hearing Ron DeSantis – just tells me how dangerous he is,” she said.

“We must defeat the Soros-Funded DAs, stop the Left’s pro-criminal agenda, and take back the streets for law abiding citizens. We stand with Good Samaritans like Daniel Penny. Let’s show this Marine… America’s got his back,” the Sunshine State Republican posted to Twitter on Friday.

As of Monday night, the GiveSendGo page for Penny’s legal defense fund had received donations of over $2.2 million.
