The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin frets DeSantis isn’t liberal enough, turns off replies as Twitter pounces

Former Trump administration staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin, who signed on as the token conservative punching bag on “The View” last year, was pummeled on Twitter after her take that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t liberal enough to have a chance in the general election, suggesting that his stance on issues such as COVID restrictions, immigration and LGBTQ + rights won’t play well with swing voters.

Griffin took to the social media platform on Sunday to retweet a National Review article that lamented the Sunshine State Republican’s less-than-enthusiastic embrace of the jabs with his campaign being critical of her ex-boss, former President Donald J. Trump’s championing of the vaccines that many conservatives rejected, along with the un-American lockdowns and mandates that DeSantis rejected, sparing Floridians of the COVID tyranny that fellow governors inflicted upon their own citizens.

“I was excited abt DeSantis as recently as last year. But I’m worried abt how hard he’s staked himself to the Right on COVID, LGBTQ issues, & immigration . Plus some of his people come off as straight up bullies. He’s got money& name ID but worry he’s weakened himself in a General,” she tweeted, a missive that invited savage ridicule that could have been even worse if she hadn’t limited who could reply to her account.

Twitter users swarmed, tearing into Griffin over the ridiculousness of her statement of expectation that DeSantis would swing left as well as her general fecklessness.

Others called her out for her lack of backbone by turning off replies.

Still others expressed skepticism that she’s even a conservative.

Griffin’s former boss didn’t have kind words for her either with Trump calling her a hypocritical “sleazebag” in a blistering Truth Social diatribe last month.
