‘Then delete your account’: James Woods, Elon Musk clash over latest Twitter plan

Elon Musk’s ongoing overhaul of Twitter has gone way beyond renaming the social media platform as X and the billionaire “Chief Twit” has recently drawn heavy criticism over plans to do away with the “block” feature, including from James Woods.

The legendary conservative actor is no fan of Musk’s latest move which many have contended will enable vindictive trolls and other miscreants to bully, stalk and threaten those who they disagree with politically, with Woods being a certain target for such harassment by those who hate him for his scathing and witty commentary and he didn’t hold anything back in making it clear to the Tesla/SpaceX CEO.

“Thank you. If @elonmusk removes the ability to block concerted harassment by trolls or organized political entities, how will ‘X’ be any different from Jack Dorsey’s horrid Twitter?” Woods tweeted on Friday.

“Musk, whom I once championed, is only doing this to protect his advertisers anyway. Users of X are mere pawns to turn the site into an electronic shopping mall. The man I thought was a defender of free speech is just another greedy capitalist. Disappointing, but not surprising,” he added.

Woods struck a nerve with Musk who angrily shot back,”Then delete your account.”

“Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs,” Musk tweeted last week, setting off a firestorm of criticism..

Other Twitter/X users agreed with Woods.

It would be a tragedy if Woods were to leave Twitter/X where he has been a national resource with his Jedi-like ability to slice and dice all of the right people.
