President Donald Trump has never had a problem calling it as he sees it, and his recent comments are no exception.
Speaking to a crowd at the Future Investment Initiative, a Saudi business conference being held in Miami, he pulled no punches in comparing Democrats to the “lunatics” in Iran. Congress is currently battling over funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which Trump argues makes the United States less safe, especially given the increasing potential for terror attacks on the country following the joint military action with Israel against Iran.

“The conflict in Iran makes it absolutely vital for the radical left Democrats in Congress to immediately end their dangerous shutdown of our Department of Homeland Security, but you know, if they want to play games, that’s fine. That’s all they have. These people are lunatics,” the president said. “They remind me, actually, a little bit, of Iran. They’re deranged. They’re deranged Democrats! For 42 days, they’ve tried to completely eliminate funding for the number one duty of government, which is keeping America safe. And they want no ICE, they want to border patrol, they want no protection of any kind to be given; reopening our borders and stopping all immigration enforcement in our country.”
