‘They are a menace’: DeSantis targets ‘Soros-backed’ left-wing prosecutors

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took aim at left-wing prosecutors who have been put into office in some of the nation’s largest cities where they have wielded their power to coddle violent criminals while using their positions to pursue cases against political enemies of the Democratic party, most notably, former President Donald J. Trump.

The indictment of the 2024 GOP frontrunner by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has torn back the curtain on the role of left-wing billionaire George Soros in elevating political operatives into critical top law enforcement positions and he slammed the bad actors as a “menace” during remarks at a conservative event on Saturday.

During his speech at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference in Harrisburg, DeSantis unloaded on the malevolent influence that Soros is exerting on the legal system through the installation of prosecutors who put ideology and politics above longstanding legal principles.

“And now you have this Manhattan district attorney who, his whole platform, when he got elected, was that he was going to downgrade as many felonies as possible to misdemeanors. He was going to keep as many people out of jail, even habitual criminals, as possible,” the governor said. “And he was going to go light on all these things as part of, quote, criminal justice reform. So that’s his posture. He doesn’t want to charge people with felonies. So now he turns around, purely for political purposes, and indicts a former president on misdemeanor offenses that they’re straining to try to convert into felonies.”

“That is when you know that the law has been weaponized for political purposes. That is when you know that the left is using that to target their political opponents. And I can tell you this, these Soros-backed DA’s, they are a menace to society,” DeSantis added. “They are a menace to the rule of law.”

While not specifically mentioning the worm in the Big Apple by name, the governor’s remarks were clearly referring to Bragg whose unprecedented indictment of a former U.S. president and top opposition leader has put the nation which was once seen as a “shining city on the hill” to the rest of the world into the domain of despotic banana republics where corrupt prosecutors acting on behalf of dictators in mirrored sunglasses remove threats to the regime by legally taking them off of the playing board.

The glare of the spotlight is clearly on Soros as a result of Bragg’s power play and he took to the pages of the venerable Wall Street Journal to deny that his malign influence had any role in the DA’s legal lynching of Trump.

Some might be inclined to suggest that Soros is the biggest bloodsucking ghoul to emerge from the Carpathians since Count Dracula by pointing out his malevolent influence on the U.S. body politic but such suggestions must be rooted in anti-Semitism, at least according to the smokescreen being pumped out by the vast left-wing propaganda machine, which has mobilized against DeSantis.

Soros may indeed be of Jewish heritage but that didn’t stop him from allegedly assisting the Nazis during World War II by ratting out his neighbors, an early glimpse into his character which he himself admitted in an infamous “60 Minutes” interview broadcast in 1998 before he came to become the powerful influence that he is today.

DeSantis also blasted Soros’ malign influence after the news broke that Trump had been indicted.

“The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head,” the governor wrote on Twitter. “It is un-American. The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent.”

“Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda,” DeSantis said.
