‘They have blackmail on you?’ Heads explode when Mark Cuban claims media ‘protects’ Trump

Billionaire Mark Cuban seems to sink farther and farther down the rabbit hole when it comes to his support of Kamala Harris for president, but his latest claim is quite the doozy.

According to the very liberal owner of the Dallas Mavericks, the mainstream media “protects” former President Donald Trump — yes, you read that correctly.

Cuban made the wild assertion while responding on X to a piece written by former Media Matters propagandist Parker Malloy, who now fancies herself a reporter. Published by the left-of-center outlet The New Republic, Malloy took issue with the media essentially summarizing Trump’s often long-winded remarks.

“As Trump’s statements grow increasingly unhinged in his old age, major news outlets continue to reframe his words, presenting a dangerously misleading picture to the public,” she wrote.

Responding to a post promoting the piece, Cuban wrote: “No question, the MSM protects the republican candidate by not reporting on what he literally says. If anyone else used the exact same language, they would dismiss them as incoherent, senile, incompetent or worse. Good job ⁦[Parker Malloy].”

Interestingly, the left is suddenly eager to talk about Trump’s age now that 81-year-old President Joe Biden has been disposed of — Cuban went to bat for Biden after his disastrous CNN debate, saying he had “confidence that in the normal duties of the Presidency [Biden] can hold his own and do the job.”

But he didn’t miss a beat when Kamala Harris was installed as Biden’s replacement, claiming that she is “pro-business.” Cuban has even offered to serve in a Harris administration as head of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As for his claim, as suggested on social media, perhaps it’s time that we “stop taking this guy seriously.” Another possibility suggested was that perhaps Cuban is a victim of blackmail.

Here’s a quick sampling of interesting responses to the story, as seen on X:
