Videos of robbers walking out of stores without paying for carts full of merchandise are becoming quite common lately, but watching thugs calmly steal from a grocery store in Washington, D.C. is a new level of frightening.
A Twitter user named Nathan Kron posted a video of two people throwing products into a cart and garbage bag at a Giant Food that is located just one mile from the United States Capitol.
At one point, a lady on her phone can be seen walking by without even so much as looking at the devious duo. The pair seem to notice the person recording, but it doesn’t seem to particularly bother them. In fact, they don’t even bother to threaten the guy, as one may see during a normal stick-up. The calm way they go about stealing from the store, which the poster claims has a security guard and cop right out front, may be indicative of how safe they feel committing the crime.

At the end of the 20-second video, a third masked bandit can be seen running up the aisle with what appears to be a tote bag, likely full of stolen wares.
Social media reacted to the clip:
@PoPville @MayorBowser @AllisonPapson. This seemed way too routine.

Here in San Francisco, stolen laundry detergent has a decent resale value at one of the outdoor fending operations on Mission St. Probably the same in DC

Guess who pays for inventory shrinkage? The paying customers who are also paying the inflation.

Are you asking the person filming to fight the thieves? What about the small Latina who walked by, should she fight them? Or maybe she’s packing, should she shoot them? The store won’t stop them, the cops won’t stop them, but the random guy filming has an obligation to?

Selling on different platforms including Amazon. All they took is available on there for more than you would pay in the normal stores. So the internet shoppers will be buying the goods
