On the morning of Aug. 18, officers from the Lincoln Police Department responded to a 911 call after a neighbor discovered that the windows of the Exclusive Hype vintage clothing store appeared to have been burglarized. Now, after surveillance footage of the incident had been released, Lincoln Crime Stoppers verified to KOLN that the thousands of dollars worth of footwear walked off with were incomplete sets.

“Three suspects tried to use a strap on the back of that vehicle to pull the door open unsuccessfully,” Becky, a representative from Lincoln Crime Stoppers told the outlet referencing a Volkswagen Atlas used during the burglary at around 4 a.m. on the morning in question.

“They then broke into the building through a window and stole $20,000 worth of shoes,” she explained as video played showing one of the three suspects smashing the window pane and then maneuvering around the glass and through security bars before kicking the door open from the inside. “Interestingly enough, it was reported they only took the left shoe to each pair, they were like display shoes, as the right shoes were stored in another room of the building.”

“So we’re hoping someone knows something about these left shoes, something about this case that can help us out,” Becky added.

Later on the morning of the burglary, Exclusive Hype took to social media to inform the public that they would be closed and that it would take them until Sept. 1 to restock.

“Unfortunately the store was broken into last night. We are hoping to be open again sometime this weekend. We will update when we know more ASAP. Thank you to all our supporters and everyone for understanding. If you know anything please contact us and let us know. These are the items to be on the lookout for,” with a list that included apparel and “single left shoe being sold.”

“We will come back from this and hope to see you all soon. Still planning a big restock for September 1st. Lots of new inventory already on the way in,” they added.

Respondents showed their support for the burglarized store with hopes that the authorities would track down the stolen goods.

“I pray they catch the thieves involved,” said one as another expressed, “Sorry to hear that hope you get it figured out soon.”

Someone else replied, “I f*cking hate people. I’m so sorry this happened to you guys!!” earning the response, “…language but year ridiculous but what goes around comes around.”

No information was provided by KOLN or the Lincoln Police on possible leads in the case and all three suspects were reportedly unidentified as the public was asked for help in any leads regarding them or their vehicle.
