Tiger Woods apologizes after a prank between two friends offends Twitter

Legendary professional golfer Tiger Woods is currently being attacked by a media-led outrage mob for committing the supposed crime of having a little bit of fun with the fellas.

After Woods outperformed opponent Justin Thomas in the opening round of the Genesis Invitational tournament on Thursday, he handed the man a tampon as a fun prank.

The joke was that Thomas plays like a girl. *bah dum tsh*

Watch, and take note of the comradery and smiles between both men:

No biggie, right? Uh, not exactly. It has in fact become a biggie, which is no surprise in this day and age of “woke,” feminist outrage.

Indeed, following the fun prank, media writers and “journalists” lost their ever-loving minds and began pumping out attack pieces bashing Woods.

“Tiger Woods’s Tampon Prank Was No Laughing Matter,” the headline of one such piece at Sports Illustrated read.

Amazingly, the piece was written by a fellow male, albeit a clearly “woke” one who genuinely believed Woods’ stunt was an attack on women’s rights.

“Woods doesn’t need a women’s studies class at Stanford to know what he did was wrong. He has a 15-year-old daughter. There are many women who work in his businesses. He likely knows hundreds of women who have regular periods and use tampons,” the piece reads.

“As a Black man in America, he understands how people can form opinions about him that are mostly based on stereotypes and racism. To give him a pass now simply because he says he meant no harm is inconsiderate to the generations of women who fought for equal rights in this country,” it continued.

Notice how the author even threw in the race card.

The good news is the piece and its author were ratioed on Twitter, meaning a majority of the paper’s readers (or at least those who use Twitter) found it to be dumb.

Meanwhile, at USA Today, another writer — this one at least a female — is certain that Woods’ prank will convince some young woman out there in the world to not play golf, lest she encounters “misogyny.” Oh, no!

“[W]hen the biggest name in the sport’s history is giddily spreading misogyny down the fairway, it might just confirm a woman’s suspicions about golf and send her to any one of the scores of other sports she can play for the rest of her life without running into a dude playing a juvenile tampon joke,” this piece reads.

This piece has also been ratioed — even more so than the SI piece, in fact.

Yet despite all the pushback to the media-led criticism, Woods ultimately bent the knee and issued a groveling apology for daring to have a little fun.

“It was supposed to be all fun and games, and obviously, it hasn’t turned out that way. If I offended anybody, it was not the case. It was just friends having fun,” he said to reporters on Friday.

“As I said, if I offended anybody in any way, shape or form, I’m sorry. It was not intended to be that way. It was just we play pranks on one another all the time, and virally, I think this did not come across that way, but between us it was – it’s different,” he added.
