With Senate Republicans close to running out the clock on election integrity, assuring more Democrat success at the ballot box, President Donald Trump continues to bang the drum to stir members of his own party into action.
Taking to Truth Social early Friday, Trump wrote, “I will not sign the Housing Bill, which has been fully approved by Congress and sent to the White House, in PROTEST over the fact that the United States Senate is not capable of passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, which is polling at 97% with the Republican Party, and very high with the non-politician Dumocrats.”
The bipartisan housing bill, known as the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, will automatically become law on Saturday unless Trump vetoes it — the U.S. Constitution says that if the president does not return a bill within 10 days of receiving it, the bill “shall be a Law,” as if he had signed it.

“The Act states, quite simply, that to Vote a person must show PHOTO VOTER I.D., PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP, AND THAT THERE WILL BE NO MORE CROOKED, CORRUPT, & DESTABILIZING MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPTIONS for Military, Disabled, Illness, and Travel!),” Trump explained. “THE SAVE AMERICA ACT’S non-passage is CRAZY, and a serious threat to any politician who votes against it!”
Trump told Senate Republicans if they can’t get the needed votes to terminate the filibuster to advance his agenda, warning them that Democrats will do as soon as they are back in power, which will result in the GOP becoming the “DUMB” party.
“The Dumocrats will TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, if and when they ever get the chance to do so, in their very first hour,” he wrote. “And I will no longer be able to call them Dumocrats again! The title of DUMB will revert to the Republicans who allowed this horrible calamity to happen to our Party, and our Nation, itself!”
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has stressed repeatedly that he cannot do either, pass the SAVE America Act or terminate the filibuster.
