TPUSA’s ‘All-American’ alternative halftime show draws millions of viewers: ‘This one’s for you, Charlie!’

Turning Point USA honored its late founder, Charlie Kirk, with an alternative to the Super Bowl, drawing in millions of viewers.

“This one’s for you, Charlie!” host Jack Posobiec declared at the start of Turning Point USA’s “All-American” halftime show on Sunday, headlined by Kid Rock as a rival to the Super Bowl’s offering, which featured Spanish-singing Bad Bunny.

The hour-long YouTube livestream “drew as many as 6.1 million concurrent viewers,” the New York Times reported, noting that it was “mostly devoid of political messaging.”

Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and Brantley Gilbert performed before Kid Rock took the stage for the finale, which featured a memorial to Kirk, who was assassinated in September. The stage featured photos of Kirk and his wife Erika, as well as their children, as the words, “In remembrance of Charlie Kirk,” appeared on screens.

“The @TPUSA All-American Halftime Show was so incredible. Charlie would’ve absolutely loved it,” Erika Kirk posted on X. “Thank you to the millions that tuned in. I’m so proud of our entire team, staff, and the artists who believed in the vision and mission.”

Gilbert, who wore a “God, family, country” T-shirt, declared at the start of his set, “This is real American.”

“From the War Department, we salute Turning Point USA and everyone who believes freedom is still worth the fight,” U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in a video that played before the start of the musical performances. “Thank you for your courage as an organization, your clarity and leadership, and for this halftime show, the war department is proud to support.”

“The concert portion of the stream concluded moments after the second half began, with 14:54 on the game clock,” the Times noted.

TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said that the organization’s alternative to the official Super Bowl halftime show was “an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom.”

“We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game,” he said in a statement last week.

Those who valued God and country were not disappointed by TPUSA’s event and weighed in on social media despite the critics.
