A “transgender woman” golfer who previously admitted that men have an advantage over women in sports has been effectively banned from the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour.
The women’s professional golf league announced Friday that “transgender women” may no longer participate in its tours.
“Effective immediately, competitors must be a biological female at birth to participate. This decision underscores the organization’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of women’s professional golf and ensuring fair competition,” the announcement reads.

In a statement, NXXT Golf CEO Stuart McKinnon said the policy change is designed to protect women.
“As we navigate through the evolving landscape of sports, it is crucial to uphold the competitive integrity that is the cornerstone of women’s sports,” he said.
“Our revised policy is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to celebrating and protecting the achievements and opportunities of female athletes. Protected categories are a fundamental aspect of sports at all levels, and it is essential for our Tour to uphold these categories for biological females, ensuring a level playing field,” he added.
This decision was not celebrated by “transgender woman” Hailey Davidson, who, despite previously admitting that men boast an advantage, participated in and in fact won the NXXT Women’s Classic in January.
“You know what really bugs me is that people think I win just by showing up. This is such a slap in the face to ALL female athletes being told that any male can transition and beat them regardless of the life of hard work those women put in,” Davidson wrote in an Instagram Story.
“You think you’re attacking me, but you’re actually attacking and putting down ALL other female athletes. You can scream at me, threaten me, throw insults at me, and even ban me BUT I will ALWAYS get back up and keep fighting to the very end. Hate and bigotry will never win,” Davidson added.

Davidson previously admitted during a “Good Morning Britain” appearance in January that men boast an advantage over women in sports.
“My whole philosophy behind all of this is I don’t believe trans people should be banned from sports, but I do believe there needs to be guidelines in effect,” Davidson said.
“Going back even four years ago or even before I had surgery, I definitely had an advantage. I would 100% agree with that,” Davidson added.
But then the golfer claimed to be an exception because of all the hormone treatments received these past few years.
“But the difference is now that years have gone on, three years after surgery, my physical capabilities now compared to back then are night and day,” the golfer said.

NXXT Golf’s decision marks a reversal from how the company responded after Davidson won its January tournament. At the time, McKinnon defended allowing transgender golfers to play.
“The NXXT Women’s Pro Tour’s policies, especially concerning gender, have been formulated in alignment with those of the LPGA and USGA,” he said. “This approach is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our partnership with the LPGA and ensuring a fair and consistent competitive environment.”
“When Hailey Davidson joined the tour, she complied with these policies by providing necessary documentation, including validation from the LPGA and USGA, which also facilitated her participation in the 2022 Q-School,” he added.
The defense of Davidson triggered backlash, with dozens of critics flooding NXXT’s comments section with concerns.
“Allowing trans identifying men to compete in the women’s category discriminates against women,” one particularly popular comment with lots of likes reads. “It allows special privileges for male athletes. Allowing trans identifying men to compete in the women’s category does NOT inspire a new generation of female athletes.”
“Girls and women are NOT a hormone level. Girls and women are NOT made through cosmetic surgeries and medications. Girls and women are NOT a feeling in a male’s head. Girls and women are born female and are deserving of a level playing field, equitable opportunities, and dignity,” the comment continues.
