‘Transgenderism is an ideology’: American College of Pediatricians bombshell condemns gender transition

“Pride”-pushers were called out by name as a growing coalition of doctors launched their stand to “respect biological reality.”

“Transition affirmation is not proven to be safe or effective…”

In addition to growing weary of the celebration of increasingly deviant behaviors and indoctrination efforts meant to satisfy the ideology of a fractional subset of society, the list of parents who’ve found themselves at odds with “the experts” and governments over the care of their own children was too long at one.

Now, two years after the overturn of Roe v. Wade advanced a cultural reclamation movement of June as Life or Family Month, The American College of Pediatricians threw down the gauntlet against pseudoscience with their Doctors Protecting Children Declaration.

Launched on June 6, ACPeds held a press conference encouraging medical professionals to standup for both science and commonsense against the alphabet agenda.

“Transition affirmation is not proven to be safe or effective long term. It does not reduce suicides. It does not repair mental health issues or trauma,” said Dr. Andre Van Mol, the co-chair of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations’ Sexual & Gender Identity Task Force.

“Minors,” he noted, “cannot give truly informed consent. Children have developing and immature brains. Their minds change often. They are prone to risk-taking, they are vulnerable to peer pressure and they don’t grasp long-term consequences.”

More bluntly, he expressed, “Gender dysphoria is a diagnosis whereas transgenderism is an ideology.”

Previously, it was reported that a recent study had actually concluded that the risk of suicide among those who’d undergone genital mutilation surgeries was 12 times that of those who didn’t, and Van Mol conservatively argued that 85% of those diagnosed with gender dysphoria grow out of it by the time they reach adulthood.

Paraphrasing the ACPeds press release that had called out a number of major medical organizations by name, executive director Dr. Jill Simons said, “We affirm that sex is a dimorphic, innate trait defined in relation to an organism’s biological role in reproduction — male and female. This genetic signature is present in every nucleated somatic cell in the body and is not altered by drugs or surgical interventions.”

Raising findings from reports on the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) that featured instructors telling doctors that patients with mental health disorders as severe as schizophrenia could consent to irreversible life-altering surgeries, as well as listing numerous studies outlining the negative impacts of the various forms of “gender-affirming care,” the declaration stated in part:

“…given the recent research and the revelations of the harmful approach advocated by WPATH and its followers in the United States, we, the undersigned, call upon the medical professional organizations of the United States, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Endocrine Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.”

“Medical decision-making,” argued Simons, “should be based upon an individual’s biological sex. It should respect biological reality and the dignity of the person, by compassionately addressing the whole person.”

Support for the press conference was wide-ranging as even billionaire Elon Musk stated, “Wow” as others suggested, “It’s about damn time!”
