‘Trantifa’ activists hide behind cops when confronted by Queens crowd opposing pro-drag queen event

Leftist rabble-rousers got more than they bargained for at a New York City library when protesters standing against a Drag Queen Story hour event scared them into seeking an unlikely protector.

New York City council members have made no secret about their efforts toward indoctrination as they have actively worked to include funding in the city’s budget. One such event was held Wednesday in the Woodside, Queens neighborhood of NYC council member Julie Won’s district, where outraged demonstrators had attempted to confront the deviancy being pushed on kids.

One video captured the moment that masked radicals armed with an umbrella attempted to block the American flag-waving defenders of innocence from getting near the event to have their voices heard. As independent journalist Andy Ngô reported, “Two black women protesting a drag queen story hour in Queens, NYC library scare two #Trantifa into retreating to police for protection.”

Warning: Vulgar Language

Among the tamer exclamations caught in the video was one of the women telling the masked individual, “You’re so stupid” and “What’s the point?”

The group was not deterred as they interacted with the potential Antifa members, dubbed Trantifa for their ideological predilections, as one of the women swiped at an umbrella with her portable stool.

When the Trantifa members reached the barricade outside the library, they could be seen seeking shelter behind the police whom they took advantage of to continue yelling at the protesters as one masked cretin even pulled their cover down momentarily to spit at the opposition.

Ahead of the event, transgenderists had encouraged their ilk to come to the event to “DEFEND DRAG STORY HOUR NYC!” with instructions to “Bring umbrellas, noisemakers, rainbow swag,” and “Wear a mask!”

Council member Won shared pictures of the event, one of which featured an individual who appeared to be the same umbrella-toting Trantifa figure in the video.

“Today, our team stood in solidarity with supporters and allies at Woodside Library to defend Drag Story Hour in the face of bigotry. I was proud to fun Drag Story Hour for our kids in this year’s budget and I look forward to providing even more funding in next year’s budget,” she tweeted.

The Queens Public Library has multiple events remaining on their schedule for Drag Story Hour, including one Tuesday at the Elmhurst location, billed for six- to 11-year-olds “featuring an amazing drag artist reading picture books, singing songs, and leading children in a craft activity. This delightful program is a celebration of gender diversity, offering kids unabashedly queer role models and the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable.”

That program was advertised as funded by Democratic NYC Council Member Shekar Krishnan.

It was unclear if any arrests had been made in connection with Wednesday’s protests, but by the end of the video law enforcement appeared to be actively encouraging the patriotic protesters to leave the area.

As to the leftists seeking shelter behind the police, social media had some thoughts on that turn.
