Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump lashed out at Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto for what he seemed to perceive as special treatment for media darling Nikki Haley.
On a day when the media was heavily promoting a new CNN/University of New Hampshire poll that shows the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations surging to within striking distance of Trump who has been the overwhelming frontrunner.
According to the poll which is great news for the narrative engineers in the media, Haley has closed to within 7 percentage points of Trump for the Granite State primary which will take place in two weeks, a gain of 12 points since November.
Trump unloaded on Cavuto and the conservative network for a segment on Tuesday’s edition of “Your World” about the pro-Haley CNN poll.
“Why is FoxNews using a Fake News CNN Poll to build up Nikki Haley in New Hampshire? When they accidentally put up the respected USA TODAY/SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY POLL, 46% to 26%, UP 20 Points, Neil Cavuto went ‘crazy,’ and demanded that the CNN Poll be put up instead. I have 5 great N.H. Polls, where I’m leading by 20 plus, and then the CNN Poll, where I’m up 7. Naturally, Fox goes with CNN, were Democrats and Independents are allowed to vote, and are totally over sampled in the Poll. Fox just doesn’t get it, as is reflected in their ratings. SAD!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump seemed to be referring to Cavuto’s bristling when the USA Today/Suffolk University poll that shows him clobbering Haley was put on screen instead of the one being flogged by media outlets.

“I haven’t looked into the details of this CNN poll that has the New Hampshire race really tightening up and the two of them, that is Donald Trump and Nikki Haley separated by only a few points,” he said as the less favorable poll for the media darling was displayed on the big screen.
“I don’t believe that this is the one though guys,” Cavuto complained. “I think the CNN poll is the one I wanted to show.”
Interestingly, Cavuto also dropped a peculiar hint that one-issue candidate Chris Christie could pull a Pete Buttigieg and drop out of the race before New Hampshire voters go to the polls.
“There’d been talk that maybe Chris Christie would bow out,” he said. “Now that doesn’t seem very likely… I don’t see him just surrendering but if he did, obviously that too could be a game changer.”
In 2020, Biden’s political obituary was being written as he was being mauled by Bernie Sanders until he won big in the South Carolina primary with the help of Rep. James Clyburn’s black political machine and then benefitted when all of his other opponents led by Buttigieg dropped out, making it a two-candidate contest.
Buttigieg was later tabbed as Biden’s transportation secretary despite no relevant experience for the job and if Christie did Haley a similar solid, he would likely be a shoo-in for a spot in her administration if she were to win the election.
Trump has recently turned up the heat on Haley, blasting her as a globalist during a weekend campaign event in Iowa.
“Did you know that? Biden donors, because they’re trying to get her, like in particular– here we’re doing so well I think they’ve sort of given up. Did you notice, they’re sort of like out of here?” Trump continued. “But in New Hampshire, they have a lot of Biden donors and contributors putting money into her campaign. That tells you– that should be enough to stop her right there. Well, she’s stopped.”
“Nikki Haley has been in the pocket of the open borders establishment donors her entire career and she’s a globalist. You know, she likes the globe. I like America First, the people in this room like America First, and Nikki Haley’s campaign is being funded by Biden donors,” the former president said to applause.

The big push for Haley is officially on and if she manages to win New Hampshire, the media will be energized as never before in their yearslong search for their Trump slayer.
