President Donald Trump is addressing his relationship with X owner Elon Musk after their public falling out.
Following Trump’s 2024 election, he and Musk teamed up to tackle the issue of government waste via the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and it seemed like things could not have been more perfect. Then, the Big, Beautiful Bill Act created a very public rift between the two, with vague threats being flung from both sides and it looked like things were truly over for the dynamic duo.
At the end of his monthly Cabinet meeting, Trump was asked whether the pair had made up and Musk was “back in [his] circle of friends.”

“Well, I really don’t know. I mean, I like Elon a lot,” the president responded. “He really helped during the elections with his endorsement. I think we get along well.”
“We had one problem, I didn’t want everybody to have to have an electric car, and he makes electric cars,” he added. “And yeah, I think we get along well.”
