Trump announces sad death of Diamond of Diamond and Silk duo; trolls celebrate viciously

Ineitha Lynnette Hardaway, better known as “Diamond” of the conservative duo Diamond and Silk, passed away Monday and former President Donald Trump, who announced her death, lead the way in remembrance.

An ardent supporter of Trump and the America First agenda from the onset of his political career, it was fitting that the president would be at the front of honoring Hardaway who had just turned 51 in November.

Taking to Truth Social, the president began his brief statement, “Really bad news for Republicans and frankly, ALL Americans.”

“Our beautiful Diamond, of Diamond and Silk, has just passed away at her home in the State she loved so much, North Carolina,” he continued. “Silk was with her all the way, and at her passing. There was no better TEAM anywhere, or at any time! Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious HEART just plain gave out.”

Trump concluded, “Rest In Peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will be greatly missed!”

The social media account shared by Hardaway and her sister, Herneitha Rochelle Hardaway Richardson, better known as “Silk,” also released a message shortly thereafter that read, “The World just lost a True Angel and Warrior Patriot for Freedom, Love, and Humanity! Please respect the privacy of Diamond’s family! Memorial Ceremony TBA.”

The message also linked to a memorial fund and cautioned those who felt compelled to offer monetary tribute that theirs was the only page associated with the pair.

Included in their most recent endeavors, Diamond and Silk had been hosting a podcast on Frank Social, the website created by MyPillow CEO and fellow Trump supporter Mike Lindell.

Other conservative figures including commentators and political leaders also gave pause to remember Hardaway, including Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) who posted somberly on behalf of himself and his wife, “Incredibly sad news–may she rest in peace! It was an honor to represent you both in Congress. Jo and I will be praying for your family and loved ones.”

Unfortunately, decorum did not last long on social media as shortly after the announcement was made, Herman Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate with a storied business career who had died in 2020 at the age of 74 a month after testing positive for COVID, began trending.

As Mike LaChance of Legal Insurrection and Townhall put it, “Herman Cain is trending because liberals delight in the deaths of black conservatives. Disgusting.”

A cause of death had not been announced by Hardaway’s family, but in November they had posted a message stating “Anyone who believes in the power of prayer please pray for Diamond” followed a few days later by the message “Thank you all for your sincere Prayers. You are appreciated. We Love y’all.”

As such, many chose to assume that because of Hardaway’s vocal opposition to the COVID response that her “anti-vax” positions led to her death.
