Trump assures skeptics: ‘Hamas will disarm, or we will disarm them’

President Donald Trump may have brokered a peace deal in Gaza, but he’s not done with Hamas.

While hosting Argentine President Javier Milei at the White House on Tuesday, Trump made it clear that if the terror group doesn’t voluntarily disarm itself, it will be disarmed by force.

Watch:

“We have told them we want disarm, and they will disarm, and if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them,” the president stated. “And it’ll happen quickly and, perhaps, violently. But they will disarm, do you understand me? Because you always- everyone says ‘Oh, well they won’t disarm.’ They will disarm. And I spoke to Hamas, and I said ‘You’re gonna disarm, right?’ ‘Yes sir, we’re gonna disarm.’ That’s what they told me.”

“They’re going to disarm, or we’re going to disarm them, got it?” Trump repeated.

When asked what time frame he would put on such an action, should Hamas resistance make it necessary, Trump avoided specifics but did commit to “a reasonable period of time.”

“The president later clarified he spoke to Hamas through his emissaries. Trump previously used threats of force to cow Hamas, first into releasing American hostages and then agreeing to the tentative peace deal. During the months of public negotiation, the president never directly spelled out what the US would do if Hamas refused his demands,” the New York Post reported.
