After the left “lit millions of dollars on fire,” the outcome to fill former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R) vacated seat seemingly proved that the president was “the difference maker.”
Throughout President Donald Trump’s second administration, Republicans have danced a razor’s edge with a slim majority, made worse for the first quarter of 2026 by Greene’s decision to quit over her differences with the White House. Tuesday’s “extremely crucial” special election marked a hold for the GOP with a victory for the MAGA-backed, newly minted Georgia Rep.-elect Clay Fuller.
The same day former Rep. Greene was calling for the president to be removed via the 25th Amendment, the candidate with Trump’s “Complete and Total Endorsement” won her vacated seat and affirmed to Fox News Digital, “He was the difference maker … He was the key factor in us winning … Our results prove that President Trump means a ton to Georgia-14.”

“It’s extremely crucial, and we need the reinforcements,” said Fuller regarding the Republican hold of the majority in the House. “I think the voters in Georgia-14 understand that, and they’re looking forward to sending a MAGA America First fighter up on Capitol Hill to support that agenda.”
Spinning off the results, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Charlie Bailey pushed the notion that the turnout for opponent Shawn Harris, when special elections typically don’t draw many voters, was somehow indicative of voter dissatisfaction with Trump.
“Tonight, in the deepest-red congressional district in Georgia — and despite more than $1.5 million in spending by Republicans to defend this Trump +37 seat — Democrat Shawn Harris notched a jaw-dropping more than 20-point overperformance in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s backyard,” he said in a statement.
At the time of this post, the Georgia Secretary of State’s office showed Fuller at about 56% of the vote compared to the 44% for his Democrat opponent, Shawn Harris. Interactive polls highlighted that in the 2024 election, Trump secured the district by +37 compared to Greene’s re-election at +29, well before her fallout with the chief executive.

On the notion of a poor turnout, Fuller suggested to Fox News Digital that the president’s supporters “would crawl through glass to make sure they have a representative up there that fights for them and fights for President Trump.”
Contrasting the left’s narrative-building, he reminded, “They lost. They’ve got to call me congressman, and they poured in millions of dollars, just lit millions of dollars on fire, and still got crushed.”
During remarks on his victory, the Washington, D.C.-bound politician expressed his opinion on the race itself, “Now the Democrat Party poured millions of dollars into this campaign; poured lies into this campaign. But they can’t beat Donald Trump and they never will.”

Earning cheers from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and his soon-to-be fellow House Republicans, Fuller also had a callout from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who said, “Congratulations to Congressman-Elect [Fuller] on winning the special election in #GA14! I look forward to working together to continue delivering results and saving America!”
