Trump blasts Fox News for ‘kissing the *ss of the enemy’ by giving Bill Maher favorable coverage

Donald Trump took a crack at liberal comedian Bill Maher AND Fox News during an “American Freedom Tour” event Saturday just outside of Memphis, Tennessee.

The former president is known for his acrimonious relationship with the media — which spent four-plus years trying to destroy him — but Fox News has been one of the few exceptions. The 2020 election changed things, however, beginning with the network’s quick calling of the state of Arizona for Joe Biden. Fox News is also reluctant to air rigged election claims, much to Trump’s angst.

In a speech in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, Trump lashed out at Fox News for booking the liberal comedian Bill Maher as a guest.

“I laugh at how foolish the Republicans are,” Trump said. “You take this guy, Bill Maher … he’s a radical left maniac with modest television ratings — modest. And as soon as he says something that’s a little bit modest, or temperate, Fox and others put him on to explain – ‘oh look, Bill Maher, a lefty, Bill Maher is saying wonderful things.'”

“They play right into the hand of the enemy, it’s amazing. I’m sure he laughs like hell at how stupid they are,” the former president continued. “They’re kissing the *ss of the enemy. And in that case, his *ss is not particularly pretty.”

Trump was joined in Memphis by his son, Donald Trump Jr., and Mike Pompeo, his former secretary of state, among others. The event being his second engagement over the weekend, after speaking Friday at the Faith and Freedom Caucus in Nashville, Tennessee.

He continued to hint at a 2024 run, concluding his remarks in Memphis by calling Team MAGA “the greatest political movement in history,” telling the crowd, “I ask you to get ready to work, get ready to fight, and get ready to win, and we’re going to win like never before.”

Maher insisted on last week’s show that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would be a better president than Trump, because he’s “not certifiably insane,” so that may have stirred Trump’s ire.

The comedian did acknowledge back in January that he has become a “hero” at Fox News because he’s willing to call out the progressive left for having “their head up their a–.”

“Let’s get this straight,” Maher said. “It’s not me who changed — it’s the left, who is now made up of a small contingent who’ve gone mental, and a large contingent who refuse to call them out for it. But I will.”

“That’s why I’m a hero at Fox these days,” he added. “Which shows just how much liberals have their head up their a–, because if they really thought about it, they would have made me a hero on their media.”
