Trump calls for probe of Schiff over ‘Ukraine impeachment scam’

President Donald J. Trump suggested that Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) should be the next to face charges over his role in the Democrats’ 2019 impeachment, in which he abused his power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate then-former Vice President Joe Biden.

Two officials who targeted Trump with lawfare, disgraced ex-FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, have already been indicted with the scheming, conspiracy-mongering serial liar Schiff potentially being next in line.

“The Ukraine Impeachment (of me!) Scam was a far bigger Illegal Hoax than Watergate. I sincerely hope the necessary authorities, including CONGRESS, are looking into this! Adam ‘Schiffty’ Schiff was sooo dishonest and corrupt. So many laws, and protocols, were violated, and just plain broken!!!” Trump wrote in a Sunday post to Truth Social.

“Over the course of the last three months, we have found incontrovertible evidence that President Trump abused his power by pressuring the newly elected president of Ukraine to announce an investigation into President Trump’s political rival,” Schiff said at the time.

Before he was elected to the Senate, the California Democrat was the House Intelligence Committee chairman and led the impeachment inquiry.

“The president and his men plot on,” Schiff said, using words right out of the original Watergate. “The danger persists. The risk is real. Our democracy is at peril.”

The impeachment ultimately failed with Democrats lacking the numbers to convict in the Senate, but it set a precedent that what was a historically and extremely rare measure could be wielded as a political weapon, which it was when he was impeached again after leaving office. The second impeachment, a Trumped-up hoax that he incited an “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, also failed.

Last month, in a Truth Social post, Trump pressured Attorney General Pam Bondi over the lack of action against Comey, James, and Schiff. A message that was reportedly intended to be private.

“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, “same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done,” Trump said in the September 20 post.

Schiff is obviously sweating after the indictments of Comey and James, and posted a defiant video to X.

“The president has made no secret of his enemies list. But we will not be intimidated. We will not be deterred,” he said. “We will do our jobs and continue fighting back against these attempts at retribution.”

A member of the Soviet-style J6 Select Committee, Schiff was the recipient of a controversial last-minute preemptive pardon from Biden, issued hours before he left office. A pardon that Trump has suggested is illegitimate.

It has been reported that Trump-hating former National Security Advisor John Bolton will also soon be criminally charged.
