Trump celebrates JD Vance after veep debate, rejects 2nd debate with Kamala: ‘Not looking to do it again’

Former President Donald Trump has nixed talk of a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris as her team once against pushed for another face-off between the two nominees.

Trump has repeatedly shot down doing another debate following the September 10 debate, and after having already debated President Joe Biden before he was jettisoned from the Democrat Party ticket in July.

But no sooner had the vice presidential debate between Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) ended Tuesday, than Harris campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon released a statement.

“Vice President Harris believes that the American people deserve to see her and Trump on the debate stage one more time. She will be in Atlanta on October 23 — Donald Trump should step up and face the voters,” she said in a statement, falling back on the tired claims that the GOP nominee is “afraid” to debate.

Trump clapped back on Truth  Social, saying the late October date so close to the November 5 election day is “too far down the line.”

“Lyin’ Kamala just put out a request for another Debate because they lost so badly tonight – Again, it’s like the fighter who lost, gets up and says, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,’” he wrote.

“I’m not looking to do it again, too far down the line. Votes are already cast – And I’m leading BIG in the Polls. I’ll MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, she’s incapable of it!” he added.

When Harris took over the top slot on the Democratic ticket and was officially nominated without a single vote cast for her, Trump had offered to do three debates: Fox News on September 4, an ABC News debate on September 10, and an NBC News debate on September 25.

While Harris accepted the ABC News offer, she would not commit to others, eventually pushing for a late October debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, GA. But that followed Trump’s response after their first face-off with biased ABC News anchors moderating.

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH.’ Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time.

Fox News ended up holding a town hall with Trump after Harris would not commit to the debate, and the suggested NBC debate never materialized. The Harris team turned down a second VP debate and Vance alluded to it in a post in August.

Trump celebrated his running mate’s debate performance Tuesday, saying he “crushed it.”

Trump told his former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway that he would “love to do two or three more debates” but they are “so rigged and so stacked.”

Social media users on X called out Harris for her push for another debate.
