President Donald Trump blasted billionaire George Soros for causing “great damage” to the U.S. and called for racketeering charges against the leftist and his son.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, Trump specifically targeted the 95-year-old Democratic megadonor and his “Radical Left son,” though not specifying which of the Soros children he meant.
“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” Trump wrote, referring to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act.
Trump was likely referring to Soros’s son Alex Soros, who chairs the Open Society Foundations, founded by his father, and recently married former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide, Huma Abedin.
“We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE. Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!” the president added.
Open Society Foundations fired back at Trump in a post on X denying its support or funding of “violent protests.”
“Allegations to the contrary are false, and the threats against our founder and chair are outrageous,” the group wrote.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk reacted to Trump’s call for federal charges in a post on X, saying, “High time action was taken against Soros directly.”
