Trump expresses regret on his SCOTUS appointments: ‘It’s unfortunate’

President Trump expressed regret over his own Supreme Court Justice appointments.

SCOTUS Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett have voted against the president “too often,” according to his own words in a TIME Magazine interview published on Thursday.

“Yeah. Yeah. What can I do? I put them in. They voted against me too often,” Trump said. “I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often. They vote for me too.”

Trump pointed to the cases where his administration lost on tariffs, mail-in ballots and birthright citizenship.

Conservative influencer Paul A. Szypula agreed and railed against the justices on X.

“The justices owe America a Court that stops treating the Constitution like a suggestion. Birthright citizenship has been stretched past the text. Mail-in rules are being abused at the cost of security. Tariff power is how America balances trade, and the Court ducked the hard part. Those aren’t slights against Trump. They’re wrong rulings,” Sypula wrote in response to Trump’s comments.

“Three seats were the chance to get those cases right. The justices used them to manage the politics instead. Trump noticed the losses. He named the failure. The Court still hasn’t fixed it,” he continued.

“So if you want to blame Trump for anything, don’t blame him for the policies he’s promoted. They’ve largely been America First. Blame him for picking the wrong justices. At this point birthright citizenship should’ve been ended, mail-in voting severely limited, and tariffs fully unleashed. Instead, we have the opposite.”

Trump also addressed the Democrat members on the bench and, while he blasted their political bias, gave them credit for at least being loyal.

“The Democrats stick like glue — those three, they virtually never vary,” he said. “You can come up with the worst thing in the world, and they’ll vote as a group. And while I don’t like it, there’s something I admire about it: there’s loyalty.”

“They have loyalty to Barack Hussein Obama. They have loyalty to [Joe] Biden, even though Biden doesn’t even know who the hell they are. He wouldn’t know. He doesn’t even know what the Supreme Court is,” he said before weaving back to his appointees.

“And me, I gave them the chance of a lifetime, and it’s unfortunate what they did.”

On a brighter note, the Supreme Court did deliver President Trump a big win on Tuesday, allowing the administration to expedite the deportation of illegal aliens.
