Trump favorability rating surges after assassination attempt; majority of Americans desire Biden exit

A new poll shows former President Donald J. Trump at near-record approval numbers after he narrowly missed being killed by an assassin’s bullet last week while most want Joe Biden to quit the race.

Trump is on a major roll after escaping from a sniper’s fire at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday and the poll, the first since his epic speech at the Republican National Convention, shows that years of relentless propaganda and lies haven’t convinced voters that he’s the new Hitler that Democrats and the media claim he is.

According to the just-released ABC News/Ipsos poll, Trump has a 40 percent favorability rating, just two points shy of his all-time high of 42 percent in August 2020 in an ABC News/Washington Post, according to the network.

Trump is up nine points since June 2, a period in which the lawfare cases against him have crumbled after a Supreme Court ruling on immunity, Biden embarrassed himself on national television in the CNN debate, and he nearly had his head blown off by a would-be assassin.

More importantly, the poll shows Trump skyrocketing from his normal rating in the low 30s, an upswing that spells big-time trouble for Democrats with most Americans only now starting to tune in with less than four months to go until the election and the party descending into a civil war over replacing Biden.

And respondents want them to do exactly that.

61 percent want Biden to drop out with only 37 wanting him to continue his crusade to “save democracy” up through the election.

The geriatric leader’s approval numbers can only be described as malodorous with only 32 percent saying that they have a positive view of the borderline senile demagogue with a whopping 55 percent expressing dissatisfaction with Biden, an atrocious number that shows all of the gaslighting has failed miserably.

Interestingly, 44 percent of Republicans think that Biden should stick to his guns and stay in the race, a statement about how confident they are that he’s a horrific candidate who will be resoundingly rejected by the American people at the ballot box in November.

According to ABC News, 15 percent of respondents are described as  “double haters,” with negative views of both candidates, according to the poll.

In another body blow to the Democrat narrative, Americans believe that Trump would be more of a unifier than the angry and demagogic Biden by seven points, 38-31 percent. But 29 percent have faith in neither in these troubled times of political acrimony that’s been stoked by the media.

There’s also cause for alarm among those who have been pushing VP Kamala Harris as Biden’s replacement with 46 percent holding an unfavorable view of the DEI queen who may well end up as the Democrat nominee if Biden caves to pressure and exits the race.

All in all, the poll is good news for Trump and will only further instill panic in a Democratic party now in complete disarray over the previously unthinkable idea that they could lose political control over the government.
