President Donald Trump expressed his appreciation after a road in Florida was approved to be named after him.
On Tuesday, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to rename four miles of Southern Boulevard, which runs from Mar-a-Lago to the Palm Beach International Airport, after the President.
Trump addressed the honor in a Truth Social post on Tuesday, expressing his appreciation for the impending “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard” in his home state of Florida.
“It has been brought to my attention that the Great State of Florida, which I won BIG three times, and where I am a proud Resident, has renamed an important four-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard, in Palm Beach County, to ‘PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP BOULEVARD.’ Thank you to Palm Beach County, Governor Ron DeSantis, and all of Florida’s great State Lawmakers, on granting me this wonderful honor! I LOVE FLORIDA!” he wrote.
DeSantis had previously signed a resolution telling the state’s Department of Transportation to install a sign along the same stretch of road honoring the president. The same legislation also establishes a section of the road to be renamed “PBSO Motorman Highway,” after the three Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputies who were killed in a tragic traffic crash in 2024.
Both signs will be installed later this year, and the name changes will be ceremonial in nature.
