‘Trump & Melania’ tribute on DWTS goes viral worldwide

A tribute to President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump has become an Internet sensation.

The president and his wife were portrayed by a couple performing on Israel’s version of “Dancing With The Stars,” called “Rokdim Im Kokhavim,” and a video clip posted on social media has garnered a staggering number of views.

While Trump critics predictably had a meltdown over the dance routine featuring professional dancer Haim Pershtein as the president and Taylor Malkov as Melania, others raved about the performance and how America “has something to be proud of again.”

The performance began with “The Star-Spangled Banner” playing and the couple standing on a red carpet behind a podium with their hands over their hearts. Malkov, wearing a version of the first lady’s inauguration outfit, then ripped off her wide-brimmed hat as the Village People’s “YMCA” began to play. She pulled off her suit to reveal a red-white-and-blue fringed bodysuit.

Pershtein, in a suit similar to the president’s with a red tie, joined in with signature Trump moves as the audience was treated to a stellar dance routine.

Malkov shared photos of the duo on Instagram to tease the performance ahead of its airing.

“So after so many comparisons about the similarity between my father and Trump, and as a US citizen, we knew exactly what iconic characters we were making for tonight’s special,” Malkov wrote in the caption, according to a translation.

On X, commentator April Silverman and others declared that the pair “absolutely killed it” in a post. And it seems X users heartily agreed with the video clip, garnering over 2.3 million views by Monday.
