President Donald Trump is reportedly considering blessing rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs with a full presidential pardon.
An anonymous Trump administration official told Deadline that a pardon for Combs is being “seriously considered” amid the rapper’s associates pressuring the White House to take action.
Other insiders further confirmed that the prospect of a pardon has gone from being “just another Trump weave to an actionable event.”
However, pressed by Deadline, Combs’ legal team had “no comment” about the prospect of a pardon.
All this comes two months after President Trump teased the possibility of a pardon for Combs:

“I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me,” he told reporters in the Oval Office after being asked about a pardon for Combs. “It wouldn’t have any impact on me.”
The day the president said this was the same day that Combs’ attorney, Brian Steel, cross-examined his former personal assistant, “Mia.”
“‘Mia’ told the lower Manhattan federal courtroom that she was raped multiple times by the Bad Boy Records founder,” Deadline reported at the time.
Her testimony mirrored that of previous witness Cassie Ventura, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, who “spoke at grueling length about the violence and filmed sex marathon ‘freak-offs’ in which she says she was forced to participate over the couple’s decade-long relationship.”
“Mia” similarly mentioned watching Combs beat and abuse Ventura, among others.
But despite facing a litany of charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, Combs was ultimately only convicted earlier this month on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years per charge.
After being convicted, he demanded that he be allowed to return home to await his Oct. 3 sentencing, but the request was denied.
Combs doubled down this week with another request to return home on a $50 million bond.

“In their motion filed Tuesday, Mr. Combs’s lawyers argued that the circumstances of his case justified his release,” according to the New York Times.
“They described Mr. Combs’s case as ‘exceptional,’ arguing, as they had at trial, that Mr. Combs and the women involved in the case had participated in a consensual ‘swingers’ lifestyle that involved threesomes — and had not been coerced, as the government had charged,” the reporting continued.
His attorneys also argued that “in the history” of the Mann Act, it “has never been applied to facts similar to these to prosecute or incarcerate any other person.”
The attorneys even played the race card.
“The defense also said the Mann Act, which was passed in 1910, had a history ‘rich with both racism and misogyny,’ and that for the last 75 years it has primarily been used to prosecute cases involving ‘financial gain through the business of prostitution,’ not against ‘johns’ who make use of a prostitute’s services,” the Times notes.
The problem is that the judge presiding over the case has already rejected this argument.
“After the jury’s verdict, Judge Arun Subramanian made clear that he did not see an opening for Mr. Combs to be granted bail,” the Times notes. “The law requires that a defendant convicted under the Mann Act be detained ahead of sentencing, unless there are ‘exceptional’ circumstances warranting release. Even then, the court must find that the defendant does not pose a risk of flight or danger.”
But on the other hand, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican, has endorsed the “Mann Act is racist” angle by citing the case of Hunter Biden:
