Trump picks a side in nasty battle between DeSantis and Disney

Democrats and their left-wing shock troops are savagely attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his increasingly nasty battle with Disney and it now appears that former President Donald J. Trump has picked a side.

This week, the Sunshine State Republican struck back after the “woke” entertainment’s sneaky trick to allow it to retain control over the special district in which its sprawling theme parks are located, putting the Burbank-based company on notice that the legislature would smack down the “King Charles clause” legal maneuver, a move that one would think that the bombastic real estate magnate could appreciate.

But Trump, who has gone scorched earth on his top rival for the 2024 GOP nomination, lashed out at DeSantis and appeared to join with the House of Mouse.

“DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney. His original P.R. plan fizzled, so now he’s going back with a new one in order to save face. Disney’s next move will be the announcement that no more money will be invested in Florida because of the Governor – In fact, they could even announce a slow withdrawal or sale of certain properties, or the whole thing. Watch! That would be a killer. In the meantime, this is all so unnecessary, a political STUNT! Ron should work on the squatter MESS!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday.

DeSantis, who has yet to make it official that he will be running for the White House, took the fight directly to Disney when he traveled to Lake Buena Vista to hold a press conference on the company’s turf on Monday where he announced that the state legislature would move to revoke the special covenant introduced by the outgoing board of the Reedy Creek Improvement District that one official described as an illegal “poison pill” to undermine the governor’s new state oversight entity.

“Disney’s sloppy and futile attempt to subvert the will of the Legislature and Floridians was uncovered by our state oversight board and their 11th hour agreements will be nullified by the Legislature,” DeSantis tweeted on Monday. “Disney’s corporate kingdom is over.”

The governor also engaged in a delightful bit of trolling at his presser, suggesting that a new state prison could be constructed next to the Magic Kingdom, an obvious joke that drove the unhinged hysterics on the left completely bonkers.

In addition to siding with Disney, Trump has repeatedly hammered away at his Republican adversary by portraying him as a villain who will steal Social Security and Medicare from seniors, a scare tactic that has consistently worked for Democrats who are surely loving it.

“Social Security and Medicare, and Ron’s attack on both, have destroyed DeSanctimonious. His love affair with Jeb Bush and Karl Rove, certainly haven’t helped, but being a DISCIPLE of ‘Wheelchair over the Cliff’ Paul Ryan, has been a disaster. Ron has lost his supporters and his support, and MAGA refuses to Endorse disloyal people!” Trump posted to his social media platform over the weekend.

DeSantis has yet to take the bait by personally engaging with the former and perhaps future POTUS.

To lighten up the mood, The Babylon Bee injected its own brand of humor, because if you can’t laugh …
